10:30 am – 12:00 pm The Future of Sales and Marketing: How to Eliminate Silos and Get Incredible Results

For years, businesses and brands have been able to get by with a a massive silo effect existing between sales and marketing departments. But today, times have changed, and because marketing teams have such a significant impact on the buying process, companies MUST do whatever it takes to eliminate these silos and leverage both departments to engage today’s digital consumer and get the results they’re looking for. In this talk, Marcus Sheridan shows exactly how other companies, in diverse industries, have managed to eliminate these silos, ultimately having a major impact on the company brand, business, and bottom line.

About the Speaker: In 2001 and fresh out of college, Marcus Sheridan stumbled across his first business with two friends and began installing swimming pools out of the back of a beat-up pickup truck. Nine years later, and with the help of incredible innovations through inbound and content marketing, Sheridan’s company overcame the collapse of the housing market and became one of the largest pool installers in the US and currently has the most visited swimming pool web site in the world… River Poolsand Spas.

With such success, in late 2009, Sheridan started his sales/marketing/and personal development blog—The Sales Lion, and has since grown The Sales Lion brand to be synonymous with inbound and content marketing excellence while being featured in multiple industry publications, including the New York Times where he was referred to as a “web marketing guru.” Today, when Marcus Sheridan is not giving riveting and passion-filled keynotes around the globe or consulting with businesses and brands, he generally finds himself on an adventure with his wife and four children.

Wednesday, November 1 – General Session

Speakers: Leon Resnick and Terrance Resnick

8:30 – 10:00 am Assuring the Successful Continuation of Your Family Business

In understandable language, business owners will learn needed tools and strategies in the areas of business succession and wealth preservation and eventual transition of assets (with special focus on their business). Typically the more successful business owners become, they also become more vulnerable. Accordingly, techniques will be discussed showing how to combat those vulnerabilities and assure that the successful business remains just that – successful! Among the areas of focus will be why successful businesses ultimately fail, the importance of coordinating estate plans with succession plans, addressing active vs. inactive children within a family business (does it make sense to leave the business to all the children?), liquidity issues, valuation methodologies that will satisfy the IRS while lowering the tax bill, the proper type of buy-sell agreements that allow for maximum tax savings and most cost efficiency and insurance funding mistakes that often result in millions of dollars in taxes paid that could have been legally avoided and solutions to avoid this scenario. The seminar wraps up by tying in many of the areas of the seminar discussion into a real life compelling family business case study that is sure to strike a chord with everyone in the audience!
